Measuring the distance

Characteristic forms: jumps

Objective

Reaching one's limit in precision jumps.

Organisation

⌛Duration: 5-10min

👥Participants: individual

⚙️️Equipment: small obstacles (a curb, stairs...) or a line on the ground

Description

The traceur starts with a small precision jump (3-4 feet wide) and lands on the obstacle.

  • If they stick the landing, they can increase the length of the next jump by a foot.
  • If they don't stick the landing, they must decrease the next jump by one foot.

The game continues until nobody can push their limits any further.

Variations

➖/➕Vary the landing surface (ground, wall, rail...)

➕The traceur must stick the landing 3x in a row to be allowed to increase the length of the jump.

Notes

Traceurs can use a small object they can move around to mark their starting point: water bottle, piece of wood, dead leaf...
