Objective
Create and overcome collective challenges
Realistically assess the capacity to overcome these challenges.
Develop precision and balance to stabilize (stick) a jump.
Organisation
⌛Duration: 15+ min
👥Participants: groups of 2-5
⚙️️Equipment: various obstacles on which to jump (ledges, rails, benches, boxes, mats...)
Description
The first player proposes a challenge that ends with a stick (a stable and precise landing) and demonstrates it.
- If he fails to stick the landing, he takes a letter of the word S-T-I-C-K and the next player proposes his own challenge.
- If he succeeds, the other players must achieve the challenge. If they fail, they take a letter.
A stick is considered successful when the player lands on the ball of the foot (see precision jump) and remains stable (holding the position for ~3 seconds).
The player with all letters of the word STICK is eliminated.
Variations
➖/➕Give constraints (moves, space or obstacles to use)
➖Allow 2-3 tries for every challenge.
Notes
Explain that it's always better to take a letter than to injure oneself: the players can skip their turn if they think they don't have the capacities to achieve a challenge !
In general, the group collectively decide what are constitutes a successful stick. Don't hesitate to guide this negotiation or to propose criteria for success in the event of a conflict.
