Water makes things wet

Characteristic forms: self-assessment

Objective

Being capable to realistically assess one's capacity to perform in rainy conditions

Organisation

⌛Duration: 10-15min

👥Participants: individual

⚙️️Equipment: diverse obstacles, water (a puddle, a water bottle...)

Description

Practitioners perform moves with dry feet, aiming not to determine their absolute limit in ideal conditions, but rather what they are capable of doing 100% of the time.

Once they think they have found this "limit", they wet the soles of their shoes and/or the surface of the obstacle (walk in a puddle, pour a little water from a bottle or fountain) and try their moves again. If they have made their self-assessment correctly, they should get it right on their first try !

Start the exercise again until the participants reach a realistic assessment of their capacities.

Variations

➖/➕Vary the moves you do: vertical wallrun, tic-tac, precision jumps...

Notes

Some moves present more risks than others: a foot that slips in a tic-tac or wallrun from the ground has little consequences, but this is obviously not the case for all techniques. Find situations tailored to the level of the practitioners, and protect the landing areas when necessary.
