Objective
Learn and respect one's limit in depth jumps.
Organisation
⌛Duration: 10min
👥Participants: any number of participants
⚙️️Equipment: obstacles with moderate and variable heights
Description
Remind everybody of the correct technique for landing: on the front of the foot, heels don't touch the ground, and the landing is silent. Optionally: a roll or support from the hands can help dissipate the impact. Emphasize the noise made during landing as an indicator of (poor) technique.
The participants then try to jump from progressively higher heights to identify their physical and technical limits. A soon as they can't land cleanly, that is where their limit is !
Emphasize the importance of respecting your body and its limits to ensure you can continue practising over the long term and avoid injuries.
Variations
➖/➕Pair work with peer assessment: A observes B during their jump, and tells them if they succeeded at all the criteria of a good landing, then switch roles.
