Prove it

Characteristic forms: jumps, self-assessment

Objective

Realistically assess one's jumping ability

Explosive power

Organisation

⌛Duration: 10+ min

👥Participants: pairs

⚙️️Equipment: Space with little to no obstacles.

Description

In pairs, starting back to back as in a pistol duel. Pick who starts.

The players walk away from each other. When player A says "stop", the two players turn around to face each other. Player B announces how many jumps he thinks are needed to reach their opponent. Player A can announce a lower number, or say "prove it !"

The bidding continues like this until a player says "prove it!" They must then prove it by trying to reach them with the number of jumps that was announced (or a lower number). If they succeed, they score a point; otherwise they lose.

Play three rounds, then find another opponent.

Variations

➖/➕Use various forms of jumps (feet together, strides, single leg strides, 360 precision jumps...)

➕Play with obstacles (one vault = one jump)

Notes

To prevent collisions, explain that they must land on the side of their opponent or at a distance where they can reach to touch their opponent with their hand.

Prerequisites

  1. Strides
